In the beginning of the story the grandmother is preparing to take a trip with her sons family to Florida; a place where she doesnt even want to go. She wants the substantial fami ly to go to Tennessee to visit relatives. This is the start example of the conceited ways that slide by her to her demise. She wants to uproot the whole family, only for her benefit. She also does non want to go to Florida because there is an escaped convict on the overt.
